Change is on it’s way, the heatwave is coming to an end and will be replaced by a lot cooler temperatures with some wind and rain and even possibility of some wintry precipitation.

The high pressure that has been in control looks like it will finally collapse allowing Atlantic driven weather to move across the UK.

This GEFS graph shows the temperatures at 1,500 metres 850hpa and the bottom of the graph is precipitation. So what I look for is when the temperature falls below -5 c any precipitation could be wintry. The black line shows the average temperature so you can see it looks like we will be several degrees below average from around the 5th onwards.
