The month of October has been cooler than average and this theme looks like it will continue.
Looking at the latest GEFS graph you can see the air temperature at 850 hpa around 1,500 metres is remaining below the 30 year mean (the thick black line). The good news is its looking a lot dry for the rest of this week and over the weekend.
It then looks like unsettled weather will return next week with the temperature dropping even cooler with frequent showers and longer spells of rain. The bottom of the graph is precipitation the higher the spike the greater amount of rain. There is some uncertainty on what temperatures will be for the last few days of the month.
