It looks like the Hurricane season is now well and truly underway. Hurricanes begins to develop off the West Coast of Africa when a cluster of thunderstorms known as a tropical disturbance appears over the Tropical ocean. With high humidity, warm sea surface temperatures and light winds this is the ingredients for the making of tropical storms and some will become hurricanes Then they start to move in the direction towards North America.
This latest satellite image shows several tropical storms and hurricanes on route from West coast Africa heading towards the West Indies and North America.
I will be watching this development now to see what path they take and to see if any get mixed up in the Jet-stream and then move North westwards in the direction of the UK, to bring some unsettled wet and windy weather our way.
