This is the outlook for December, January and February from the JMA  issued from the Japanese Met Agency. This is not a forecast but a general outlook. It is only one model and long range forecasting is not to be take too literally.

December.

High pressure is situated over the UK with the centre of the high to the South West. This looks like temperatures will be around average with rainfall above average. The dominate wind direction will be South westerly to westerly’s.

January 2018.

Low pressure trough will be over the UK. Temperatures will be around average with mainly a North Westerly airflow some times going into a northerly bringing colder spells. Precipitation will be above average with some being wintry.

February.

Low pressure trough is still over the UK but we will see a more northerly possibly North easterly wind direction bringing some cold conditions.  Precipitation looks slightly above average with some wintry conditions.
