Followers will know I try and do a four week outlook from the JMA the Japanese Met Agency nearly every week. Once a month the JMA issue a 3 month outlook.

This is the outlook for November, December and January from the JMA.  It is just one model so we cant say confidence in the outlook is high but we must take some note of it.  I have added the 3 images together and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are below average heights and orange, yellows above average heights.

November.

Low pressure over the West side and the UK with the centre of the low pressure over the Atlantic. This would bring an unsettled month, wet and mild with some storms.

December.

Low pressure is centered to the North of the UK. Again quite a wet month but this time been very cool with a North westerly airflow could bring a few cold wintry spells.

January.

High pressure over Greenland and the North Pole with a small area of low pressure over Germany. This would bring a bitterly cold month with a North easterly air flow with some snow.
