This is the latest outlook for the next four weeks from the Japanese Met Agency the JMA. It is not meant to be a forecast but a general outlook. I have added the 3 images together and rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure area’s and oranges high pressure area’s.

Week 1. 9th August to 15th.

Large low pressure area is over the UK stretching into mainland Europe and Scandinavia. This will bring some unsettled conditions with some windy and wet weather. Rainfall will be above average and temperatures below average.

Week 2 10th August to 16th.

Not a great deal of change from the previous period. Low pressure is still over the UK and this will bring above average rainfall, temperatures will just slightly above average for mid August.

Week 3-4 17th August to 30th.

High pressure looks like it will move over southern parts of the UK and southern Europe. We should start to see an improvement towards the end the month with higher temperatures being several degrees above average. Becoming fairly dry accept for Scotland where there will be above average rainfall.
