This is the outlook for the next four weeks from the JMA the Japanese Met Agency. It’s not meant to be a forecast but an outlook. Followers of the page know that I do visit the JMA and post my findings. I have added the three images together, rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure area’s and oranges is high pressure areas.
Week 1 8th February to 15th.
High pressure is over the UK stretching eastwards to Scandinavia. This will bring us easterly winds bringing a cold period of weather with some wintry showers.
Week 2 16th February to 22nd.
High pressure over Greenland stretching down over the UK. This will bring a cold northerly airflow. It would be mainly a dry period.
Week 3-4, 23rd February 8th March.
This is a two week period, the JMA’s idea is for a low pressure trough off the South-West UK bringing a South westerly airflow. We would see our temperatures rising to 2 or 3 degrees above average for late February early March. This would also bring above average rainfall.
