This is the latest outlook for the next four weeks from the Japanese Met Agency the JMA. It is not meant to be a forecast but a general outlook. I have added the 3 images together and rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure area’s and oranges high pressure area’s.
Week 1, 7th December to 13th.
Low pressure is firmly in control over this period bringing unsettled spells of weather. There will be above average rainfall with some very windy periods. Temperatures are expected to be around average.
Week 2, 14th December to 20th.
Again low pressure is in control of our weather with some slight changes from the previous period. Temperatures are expected to be a little colder during this period compared with the week before. Northern parts of the UK will be colder with below average temperatures so at times I would expect some of the colder air to move South turning some of the precipitation a little wintry at times.
Week 3-4, 21st December to 3rd January.
This is a two week period and we may see a gradual change from the previous week. Low pressure looks to be over the UK with most of the low pressure system over the Atlantic. This period again will see slightly above average precipitation with temperatures close to average for the end of December early January.
