This is the latest outlook for the next four weeks from the Japanese Met Agency the JMA. It is not meant to be a forecast but a general outlook. I have added the 3 images together and rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure area’s and oranges high pressure area’s.
Week 1, 16th January to 22nd.
High pressure stretches eastwards from the Central Atlantic over the UK and continues over central Europe. From this coming weekend it looks like we will have fine, settled conditions bringing mainly dry weather with below average rainfall. The temperatures will be around average, so it looks like it will be cooler than we have been use to.
Week 2, 23rd January to 29th.
It looks like most parts of the UK will have high pressure in control with Scotland under low pressure which stretches northward over the Pole. Temperatures look to be 1 or 2 degrees above average, possibly having some night time frosts. Rainfall is around average.
Week 3-4, 30th January to 12th February.
This is a two week period and it looks like high pressure will be over the UK. So the weather should be overall settled with the temperature around what you would expect for February. So we can expect some cold and frosty night times and chilly, dry day’s.
