This is the outlook for the next four weeks from the JMA the Japanese Met Agency. If you have not seen the JMA before I have rotated the images and added a red line so you can see where the UK is. Blue colours are below average heights low pressure area’s and Oranges are above aver heights high pressure area.

Week 1, 24th January to 30th.

The UK is under a low pressure and its shows rainfall will be slightly above average and the temperature 1 to 2 degrees lower than you would expect. With the temperature below average we can expect to see some wintry conditions with some snow.

Week 2, 31st January to 6th February.

Low pressure again is over the UK bringing a cold northerly airflow. Precipitation is around what you would expect for early February, I would think with the cold temperatures there will be a few wintry showers.

Week 3-4, 7th February to 20th.

Little change in the setup with low pressure over the UK with the high pressure ridge in the Atlantic. Again temperatures will be slightly below average and precipitation around what you would expect, so there will be some wintry showers.
