A low pressure system that is located to the South of Greenland at this time of writing will be moving South eastwards towards the UK. You can see the low pressure system on this satellite image.
This looks like arriving off the West Irish coast on Thursday. This system looks to have a lot of moisture on it’s West side associated with it. It will be around -7 centigrade at 1,500 metres over all of the UK around dawn on Thursday. This low pressure system will bring its moisture laden cloud towards the UK from a South Westerly direction. It looks like snow will arrive into our area late afternoon only clearing the area around midnight.
This need’s watching carefully because this event could cause some disruption Friday morning
