This is the latest outlook for the next four weeks from the Japanese Met Agency the JMA. It is not meant to be a forecast but a general outlook. I have added the 3 images together and rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure area’s and oranges high pressure area’s.

Week 1, 9th January to 15th.

A deep low pressure trough is over the UK, this will bring some stormy conditions with above average rainfall with the temperature 3-4 degrees above average.

Week 2, 16th January to 22nd.

A high pressure ridge is over the UK and Europe and Scandinavia, bringing mainly dry conditions with the temperature around 2-3 degrees above average.

Week 3-4, 23rd January to 5 February.

This is a two week period and there will be some slow changes. High pressure is still over the UK and central Europe. I would think we will see the temperature and rainfall just slightly above average. I would expect the change to slightly cooler temperatures and some rain would be from the end of this month.
