This is an update on yesterday evening post for the possible risk of rain turning to sleet on Saturday.
It is now looking very unlikely. The GFS model and the ICON model have fallen inline with the other models and are just showing wintry weather over the mountains of North Wales and the peaks of the Pennines.
So I think any sleet or snow will be on ground where the height is above 300-400 metres above sea level. Our highest ground is Castle Ring on Cannock Chase and that only reaches 240 metres above sea level.
I will publish a more detailed weekend outlook later this evening.
