Looking at this GEFS graph it is showing the temperature will remain above average and it will be mainly dry. There is certainly no sign of the return of any wintry weather at this time.
The top half of this GEFS graph shows the temperature at 1,500 metres, 850 hpa. The thick black line is the average temperature so you can see we are several degrees above what you would expect for February.
The bottom of the graph is precipitation and you can see there is little in the way of any rain with just a few showers around during the 3rd week of the month.
If the low rainfall continues for the remaining weeks of this winter and if the dry conditions continue into Spring, the lack of any real rainfall could cause some problems this summer. Reservoir water levels have not recovered from our dry summer last year, this could cause some real issues if it does not start to rain soon.
