This is the latest outlook for the next four weeks from the Japanese Met Agency the JMA. It is not meant to be a forecast but a general outlook. I have added the 3 images together and rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure area’s and oranges high pressure area’s.
Week 1, 26th December to 1st January.
High pressure will be in control and it should be overall dry with the temperatures around 3-4 degrees above average.
Week2, 2nd January to 8th.
High pressure is over the UK and central and southern parts of Europe. Low pressure is over the North Pole region. Again fairly settled with temperatures around 2-3 degrees above average with mainly dry conditions.
Week 3-4, 9th January 22nd.
High pressure is over the UK and southern Scandinavia. Again this will see mainly dry conditions but the temperatures will be a lot cooler than the previous periods being around average. I can see a more Easterly airflow bringing some cold and frosty nights.
