This is the latest outlook for the next four weeks from the Japanese Met Agency the JMA. It is not meant to be a forecast but a general outlook. I have added the 3 images together and rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure area’s and oranges high pressure area’s.

Week 1, 19th December to 25th.

Low pressure remains in control of our weather, this will bring showery conditions with slightly above average rainfall. Temperatures are expected to be around 2 degrees above average.

Week 2, 26th December to 1st January.

High pressure stretching from Spain northwards over the UK and continues over the North Pole. This looks like we will have a dry period of weather with temperatures again around 2 degrees above average for the end of December.

Week 3, 2nd January 2020 to 15th.

A small low pressure area looks to be over the UK, to bring mainly dry conditions. It will start to become a lot cooler with the temperatures around average for January so we may start to see the return of some night time frosts.
