This is the latest outlook for the next four weeks from the Japanese Met Agency the JMA. It is not meant to be a forecast but a general outlook. I have added the 3 images together and rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure area’s and oranges high pressure area’s.
The last JMA outlook I published on 22nd March did pick out the cooler colder idea well. I am a little late in publishing this weeks JMA but better late than never.
Week 1, 5th April to 11th.
High pressure centred north of Scotland covering most Northern parts of the UK with low pressure to the South of the UK. This setup would bring below average rainfall, with temperatures slightly below what you would expect for early April.
Week 2, 12th April to 18th.
High pressure is over the UK stretching northwards to Greenland. This will bring mainly settled dry conditions but would expect cooler temperatures with North, north-easterly airflow.
Week 3-4 19th April to 30th.
High pressure over the UK and stretching towards Spain. This will help bring some Spring like conditions with temperatures rising couple of degrees above what you would expect for the end of April.
