This is the outlook for the next four weeks issued by the Japanese Met Agency. This is just one model the JMA but followers will know that I normally publish it every Thursday or Friday. I have added the three images together and I have rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure areas and orange’s colours are high pressure areas.

Week 1, 18th January to 24th.

The UK is sandwiched between high pressure to the North and South and low pressure to the West and the East. This period looks like it will bring slight above average rainfall and temperature overall slightly below average.

Week 2, 25th January to 31st.

High pressure will be in control bringing overall mainly dry conditions with temperature slightly below average with cold and frosty nights.

Week 3-4 1st February to 14th.

This is a two week period and it looks like high pressure will remain in control. It will be mainly dry and the temperature will be around average for early February with cold and frosty night.
