This is the outlook for the next four weeks using the JMA issued by the Japanese Met Agency. This is just one model the JMA but followers will know that I normally publish it every Thursday or Friday. I have added the three images together and I have rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure areas and orange’s colours are high pressure areas.
Week 1, 25th January to 31st.
High press pressure stretches across the North Atlantic Over the UK and onto northern Europe. This will bring mainly dry conditions with temperature one or two degrees above average for the end of January.
Week 2, 1st February to 7th.
Not a great deal of change has taken place except low pressure has moved closer to the southern parts of the UK. High pressure remains across the North Atlantic over the UK and Scandinavia. This looks like bringing a dry period with temperature a couple of degrees below average, turning quite cold with a easterly wind direction.
Week 3-4 8th February to 21st.
Very little change with high pressure being in control stretching over the Atlantic, UK and continues over Scandinavia. Once again a cold period with an easterly wind direction will bring temperatures one or two degrees colder than you would expect for mid February and overall mainly dry.
