Good evening, I am not sure how many updates on this wintry weather I have written. I am now hoping that we will start to see more agreement with the models and this will give us more confidence in the outcome. I would think by Sunday evening I will be able to call next weeks a forecast and not an outlook. What does seem to be consistent is some snowy conditions during Tuesday so I am watching that day carefully because we could see some disruption.

So this weekend looks to be chilly with Saturday around 4 to 5 c and some showers. Sunday again around 4 c and some bright and sunny spells and it’s looking dry.

Monday looks to be dry and again around 5 c, then during the evening heavy rain looks to arrive turning to heavy snow during the early hours of Tuesday with some snow showers during the day. If the models are correct we could see some disruption but its will be Sunday evening, Monday before I can be sure on that. Wednesday looks to be a cold day top temperature only around 2 c with the odd wintry shower, overnight below freezing. Thursday and Friday temperatures around 2 to 3 c by day and overnight around -2 c. Its a long way of at the moment but the weekend of 26th and 27th is looking wintry with heavy snow showers and temperature around 2 c by day and -3 c during the night.

The last days of January and first few days of February is now looking very cold with easterly winds moving over the UK, possible return of The Beast From The East. But the end of the month is a long way off and forecasting beyond three days is tricky and changeable so 10 to 14 days confidence is low at this time but the possibility are there especially with what happen to the vortex the end of December.
