This month I have been watching the area of sea ice and snow cover and reporting back my findings.
Again this week the area of sea ice and snow cover continues to grow in size. The snow continues to advance westwards towards Europe. The two images I have pasted together shows the area is growing fast, can see what it was like on the 20th October and now the 29th.
The long range models are still indicating a mild, wet and windy winter but with this rapid growth of snow and sea ice it may have something to say about that.
History tells us when we have had a year of rapid sea ice and snow cover this can sets off a chain reaction. It takes a long time its a slow process and nothing is guaranteed. But I now turn my attention to the state of the Polar Vortex to see if it will show any sign of warming and then weakening.
