We are around 90 hrs before Christmas at the time of publishing this outlook and I would have thought the models would have started to settled down. Well they have switched back to a cold, possibly wintry idea during today runs. So we must still take this outlook with a pinch of salt.
Christmas Eve.
Cloudy day with rain arriving during the afternoon, top temperature 8 centigrade. Rain continues during the evening, temperature overnight remaining around 7 centigrade.
Christmas Day.
A cold day with showers possibly turning wintry with sleet or snow during the afternoon, 3 centigrade. Heavy snow overnight, -1 centigrade.
Boxing day.
A cold day with wintry showers, 1 centigrade. Cold night around freezing point.
So far today the 3 model runs have shown these wintry conditions. It will be interesting to see what the last run comes up with around 10 pm this evening. The idea of cold air moving in from the East and stalling around the midlands during Christmas day. It will all depend if the cold air does reach the midlands. Update 7 tomorrow will be interesting and much anticipated I am sure.
