This is the outlook for the next four weeks using the JMA issued by the Japanese Met Agency. This is just one model the JMA but followers will know that I normally publish it every Thursday or Friday. I have added the three images together and I have rotated them and added a red line so you can see the UK. Blue colours are low pressure areas and orange’s colours are high pressure areas.

Week 1 4th October to 10th.

High pressure is over central Europe with a deep low pressure trough over the Atlantic and close to the West coast of the UK.  This will bring above average rainfall and temperatures slightly below average.

Week 2 11th October to 17th.

High pressure is in control stretching from the Azores over the UK and onto Scandinavia. This will bring a warm feel with temperatures 1 or 2 degrees above average. But with the high pressure bringing a South westerly airflow we will see rainfall slightly above average.

Week 3, 4  18th October to 31st.

Low pressure from the midlands northwards with a small high pressure system to the South of the UK. This looks like being a cold period with temperatures around 2 or 3 degrees below average. Rainfall will be around average except for Northern England and Scotland bringing a wet period with above average rainfall.
