This is the outlook for the next four weeks using the ECMWF mean anomalies charts. With all long range forecasts you have to take this with a pinch of salt but the ECMWF continues to perform well. Its not meant to be a forecast but a general outlook. Many thanks to ECMWF for allowing me to use their charts.

Week 1, Monday 16th to Monday 23rd October.

High pressure looks to be over Scandinavia this would bring mainly a dry period with slightly below average rainfall. It looks very cool with the temperatures a couple of degrees below average for mid October.

Week 2, Monday 23rd October to Monday 30th.

High pressure is over Scandinavia and Iceland. Rainfall will be close to normal and temperatures will be slightly above average for the end of October.

Week 3, Monday 30th October to 6th November.

High pressure is still over Scandinavia with low pressure over southern England. Temperatures and rainfall will be around average for early November.

Week 4, 6th November to 13th November.

Low pressure is over England and Wales. This would bring temperatures slightly above normal with rainfall close to normal.
